Dear reader,
Today’s Lettera File is, at first glance, a very simple, whimsical prayer. I encourage you to spend some time with it though. Contemplate each line. You’ll very quickly discover that its simplicity and whimsical nature mask some very real depth.
Its simplicity is a gift. The depth available in the further contemplation of it is a pilgrimage.
Following today’s Lettera File, I’ve got the video of a short conversation that I had with Andrew Urquhart on Rhema last week. It’s about my time as a local church minister coming to an end. The farewell service was on the 8th. It was a wonderful time of reflection, love, and good food. It was on Thursday that I had the conversation with Andrew.
Incidentally it meant that the Sunday that has just been looked very different for me. I did a workout at the gym (I’ve rebooted exercise in my life) from 5:45-6:45am and then went to Catholic Mass at 7:30-8:30am. The day felt REALLY long till my radio show! Usually I would have been busy from about 7:45am-12pm. Often there would be lunch with people after that, and then only a few hours later I’d be into my radio show with Jax Donaldson on Newstalk ZB in the early evening.
If you’re new here, I publish a Lettera File every Wednesday. They are typed on my Olivetti Lettera 32 (pictured above). Excuse any typos and formatting issues since I am using a typewriter where I can’t easily correct things.
This feature is always a short thought for contemplation whether you agree, disagree, or anything in between.
Here is today’s file, followed by a transcript of the text in the image…
