Eh, I’m open. I grew up Catholic and thought the entire thing was boring and couldn’t wait to escape to be honest. Then many years in and out of other churches where communion was almost never done. Now I’m on the other side and wondering if there’s perhaps more to it that I should be paying attention to. So interested and open to listening if that makes sense
I agree with Christina it would be an interesting topic - I think the Catholic focus on Eucharist is so important - we gather, we share story, we share food and then fortified by that bringing Christ into our lives in a tangible way we take that out into the world. And then we regularly wreck it - bad music, bad homilies and restricting access due to our priesthood crisis. The photo I have of sharing lunch after my grandchildren’s baptism with their non-believing other grandparents, their god parents and parents is far more Eucharistic than the Mass my husband and I went to beforehand. But I love the ritual version and miss it.
That was a rollercoaster read! Loved it.
Perhaps communion/the Eucharist as a topic?
Great idea! is there anything specific about it you'd like to hear some thoughts on?
